J’aime beaucoup la version classique avec du pain légèrement sec, but for the more gourmands you can try the same recipe with brioche or even panettone…
A gourmet breakfast ready in 5 minutes chrono, I am sure you will be convinced !!! go shoo, blow up the pans and heat them up !
French toast
Ingredients (pour 2)
- 4 To 6 slices of bread (or brioche)
- 20 cl of milk
- 50 g cane sugar
- 50 g of butter
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 vanilla pod (optional)
- Fruit to accompany
Description
Boil the milk with the sugar and the vanilla pod split in two and scraped. Then let it infuse 10 minutes off the heat.
Beat the eggs like an omelette.
Quickly dip the bread in the sweetened milk then in the beaten eggs.
Melt half the butter in a pan and add the bread slices. Let it cook 3 minutes over medium to high heat, turn then add the remaining butter. continue cooking 3 minutes.
You can enjoy this hot French toast, or slightly warm and with fruit, it’s a guaranteed treat…

28.5.13Mmmmmmmm French toast !
I don't like it when it's too soft either … I grill (A little) the bread before dipping it in the milk then in the beaten eggs … on the other hand I do not boil the milk in which I put liquid vanilla extract and I put the sugar with the eggs… Short, I will try your recipe to see !
