Millionaire shortbread
Millionaire shortbread
Ingredients (pour une quizaine)
Pour la base shortbread
- 210 g of flour
- 170 g of butter
- 60 g cane sugar
- 1 c. at c. of bicarbonate
- 1 pinch of fleur de sel
For the caramel
- 400 g sweetened condensed milk
- 170 g of butter
- 4 c. to s. maple syrup
- 1 pinch of vanilla powder
- 1 pinch of fleur de sel
For the chocolate
- 340 g of good dark or milk chocolate
- 1 c. at c. coconut oil
Description
Preheat the oven to 180°.
Sprinkle the butter, flour, sugar, bicarbonate and salt together to obtain a homogeneous paste. Line a rectangular or square mold with baking paper and add the shortbread dough. Prick with a fork and bake 5 minutes then lower the oven to 150° and let it cook 35 min. Let cool.
Make the caramel, for that, heat the condensed milk and maple syrup together in a saucepan and stir constantly. Add the butter in pieces, fleur de sel and vanilla and stir until you obtain a thick caramel that coats the spoon. Pour the caramel over the cooled shortbread and refrigerate 30 minutes minimum.
Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie with the coconut oil and pour over the cooled caramel.. Level the surface and refrigerate.
Cut into squares and enjoy !

19.3.13I have a recipe that looks a little like this.. The shortbread is made with added coconut and cooked for 15 minutes , and I directly put the condensed milk mixed with maple syrup on the dough and I put everything back in the oven for 10 minutes and then put the choc layer.
I'm going to try this recipe right away..
Regards Paulette
