gingerbread house {Saint Nicolas}
Aujourd’hui c’est la Saint Nicolas, alors pour se mettre dans l’ambiance de Noël j’ai eu envie de vous proposer une idée à réaliser avec les enfants (ou les grands d’ailleurs !). Une maison en pain d’épices avec pleins de bonbons à dévorer, pour faire comme Hansel et Gretel…faites juste attention de ne pas vous faire dévorer par la sorcière !!!
Cette maison a été réalisée l’année dernière avec l’aide de Monsieur…(oui oui nous sommes de grands enfants !), with the house facades of our Swedish friend but I promise I will try to make it “home made” next year !

gingerbread house {Saint Nicolas}
Ingredients
- A gingerbread house
- Candy of your choice
For the cement glaze
- 1 egg white
- 110 g icing sugar
- 1/2 c. at c. lemon juice
For the icing decoration in Swiss meringue
- 1 egg white
- 2 x the weight of the egg white in sugar
Description
Prepare your cement glaze so you can mount the walls and roof of your house, To do this, beat the egg white with the lemon juice and then add the icing sugar using a spatula.. Place this mixture in a piping bag then assemble the different sides. Leave to dry for ten minutes.
Meanwhile prepare the Swiss meringue, for that, put the egg white and sugar in a mixing bowl over a bain-marie and beat the mixture in a bain-marie until it warms and forms a nice smooth and shiny meringue. Then remove the mixing bowl from the bain-marie and continue to beat the meringue so that it cools..
Put the mixture in a piping bag and decorate the house as you wish ! For decoration add candies on top of the meringue before it hardens.
Decorate and devour as you wish !!!
