Strawberry and hemp steam cake {sans gluten – without milk}

Ça y est le blog reprend du service après la coupure d’été et de rentrée, oui parce qu’ici la rentrée des enfants n’est pas la mienne car c’est bien trop la course !!! Et je reviens avec une recette de gâteau vapeur aux fraises, si vous n’avez jamais testé les gâteaux vapeur il faut vite corriger ça et je vais vous dire pourquoi. La cuisson vapeur apporte une texture et un moelleux incomparable et franchement ce cake sans gluten en est le parfait exemple ! As a result, vous l’aurez compris, ici on est pas encore passé en mode automne, I’m still enjoying summer and the recipes that go with it !

this cake eats itself, the hardest part is stopping !!! This recipe I tested and re-tested so that it was perfect but hey, there’s always a little thing going wrong, this time the strawberries all fell to the bottom of the mold !!! But hey it doesn't matter, it's just as good in the end !

Strawberry and hemp steam cake {sans gluten – without milk}

POUR 1 CAKE

  • 200 g strawberries
  • 100 g ground almonds
  • 100 g cornstarch
  • 3 eggs
  • 80 grams of sugar
  • 1 baking powder
  • 30 g of sunflower oil
  • 30 g of hemp oil
  • 3 tablespoon of almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon of hemp seeds

ICING

  • 100 g of Greek-style vegetable yogurt
  • 30 grams of sugar
  • Put the starch, almond powder, yeast and sugar in a salad bowl and mix.
  • Make a well and add the oils then the egg yolks.
  • Dilute with milk.
  • Beat the egg whites and gently add them to the dough..
  • Add the chopped strawberries then place in a lined cake tin.
  • Finish by sprinkling the top with hemp seeds.
  • Bake 45 minute steam.
  • For the icing, mix together the yogurt and sugar.
  • Unmold, let cool then add the icing and fresh strawberries to serve.

    Ohlala I must surely be very stupid (or very blonde haha !!) but “steam vegetables”, I know…. I fill my pot with water and put the vegetables in the basket provided for this purpose, then I cover and it cooks very quickly… But a steamed cake ??? This is how ? There is a special function in the oven ? or you need a steam oven ? I dry up and above all feel very very stupid !!!! Thank you for your response 🙂

      Oh no there is no stupid question !!! you simply have to put the cake mold in the steamer (electric or on plates), close the lid and off you go ! No need for a steam oven 😉
