King cake with almonds, chocolate and Grand Marnier

Like every year, on a tout le mois de janvier pour fêter les rois (et la nouvelle année), et ça tombe bien car la fin du mois est proche ! Bon comme on dit mieux vaux tard que jamais et c’est pour moi une tradition de vous présenter chaque année une galette des rois différente. Vous pourrez donc retrouver une galette des rois with almond cream et une couronne des rois briochée à la fleur d’oranger.
Cette galette, c’est quand même la quatrième que je prépare depuis le début du mois, SO, pour finir en beauté j’ai voulue une version un peu différente. Almond of course because I like it, but also chocolate chips for treats, all flavored with Grand Marnier…. hmmmm…


And then don't act like me sometimes, don’t forget the bean(s) (yes here we draw the king and the queen !) in the cake, you risk being disappointed !!!
King cake with almonds, chocolate and Grand Marnier
Ingredients (for a pancake for 6 To 8 people)
- 155 g ground almonds
- 155 g softened butter
- 100 g cane sugar
- 3 medium eggs + 1 jaune
- 75 g dark chocolate chips
- 4 cl of Grand Marnier
- 2 pure butter puff pastry rolls
- 1 or 2 beans
Description
Mix together the almond powder, the sugar and the softened butter using a spatula and without incorporating any air, to form a smooth and homogeneous mixture. Add the eggs then mix. Then pour the Grand Marnier into the mixture and add the chocolate chips, mix. Put the mixture in a piping bag.
Preheat the oven to 180°.
Spread the first puff pastry on a plate. Add the almond cream forming a snail and stop at 3 cm you board. Add the beans. Wet them with water 3 cm edge and place the second roll of dough on top. Use pressure to seal the edges of the dough well..
Brush the pancake with the egg yolk. Then decorate the edges and top of the pancake with the back of a knife..
Put in the oven for about 30 min so that the pancake is nicely browned and it's ready.
