Ah les petits-pois fraisc’est un vrai plaisir quand je vois arriver les cosses sur les Ă©tales du marchĂ©. D’abord parce que c’est bon Ă  grignoter comme ça comme le raconte Laurence mais aussi parce que manger des petits-pois carotte est un vrai plaisir !!! Et puis comme les pommes de terre nouvelles sont aussi de saison, j’ai voulu vous proposer une version plus complĂšte et gourmande.

Rien de bien compliquĂ©, It's just a basic that I wanted to cook and share with you because we don't all have very good memories of peas and carrots.… But the, there are only fresh vegetables that are crunchy in the mouth, to eat as is or as an accompaniment.

SO, canteen memories or real pleasure carrot peas ?!

Peas, carrots and new potatoes

Ingredients (pour 4 people)

  • 600 g fresh peas (shelled weight)
  • 4 large carrots
  • a dozen small new potatoes
  • 1 filet d’huile d’olive
  • Salt and pepper

Description

Peel the carrots then cut them into small cubes.

Wash and cut the potatoes into quarters or halves.

Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a pan then add the carrots and cut potatoes. Cook over medium heat and covered 15 minutes, stirring gently frequently.

Meanwhile, shell the peas and cook them in boiling salted water. 4-6 minutes then drain them.

Increase the heat under the pan, check the vegetables for cooking and add the peas. Leave to cook for approximately 2 minutes then season.

    I wanted to make your recipe which is terribly tempting but I don't know if there is an error or not in the cooking time for the peas which indicates 4 total minutes ?

      Thank you Nathalie, no there is no mistake because I find that barely cooked peas are so much better !!! But if you prefer softer peas, just double the cooking time.

    Excellent ! I just added a cube of beef stock mixed in a cup of water throughout the recipe to prevent it from sticking and it gives a little more flavor ! Thank you for this recipe.
